Death Race
While I dont think anything can top the Original, the remake might be halfway interesting. For those who havent seen the old one, here’s what Wikipedia says:
Death Race 2000 is a cult action film directed by Paul Bartel in 1975. The movie takes place in a dystopian American society in 2000. [...] One of Mr. President’s most famous decrees has been that of the Transcontinental Road Race, a violent spectacle that takes a small set of racers from New York to ‘New’ Los Angeles, California, leaving death and destruction in their wake.
Now the remake seems to follow a similar road-type race however the main antognist seems to be the prison warden and the race seems to be confined to an enclosed area instead of a cross-country trek. Follow the jump to see the new redband trailer. Read the rest of this entry »
Quarantine
So I got a new movie trailer in my Inbox thanks to Sony Studios and it’s titled Quarantine. The plot goes something a bit like this:
Television reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartments. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by a mysterious disease which turns victims into bloodthirsty psychopaths. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew’s videotape.
It’s like a mix of Diary of the Dead, 28 Days Later, and Cloverfield.
